On Wednesday, May 18, 2011 Preservation New Jersey added the Waldwick Train Station to the state's "10 Most Endangered Historic Places" list. Sites are chosen based on historical significance, critical nature of the threat identified and the likelihood that inclusion will have a positive impact on efforts to protect the endangered building. Sites are nominated by residents of the state, with a final decision being made by the board members of Preservation NJ.
This acknowledgment provides support and statewide publicity for the need and urgency to restore this State and Federally registered historic site. Below is WCA vice president Doug Cowie on the steps of New Jersey's state house in Trenton just before the televised press conference.
